Have you noticed the difficulty in pulling up weeds lately, because they so closely resemble bulbs and their leaves? It is vital to take extra care when weeding, to make sure you do not pull up the good with the bad. This will take longer but, believe me, it is well worth it.
Jesus had this to say. ‘Let both grow together until the harvest and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘first gather together the (weeds) and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.’’
He was speaking of those committed to God’s way of life and those who are not. Only God is the judge and He is allowing us all to grow together in our communities until He separates us like weeds from bulbs. ‘By their fruit you shall know them’, Jesus said. In other words, in the end God will judge us by the realities of our lives rather than by our looks or our words.
Now is the opportunity, before He returns, to ensure that the good seed of His life is planted and flourishing within us. So the onus is on us to follow Him and be patient as the weeds of self-centredness are removed from our lives lest, in the end, we ourselves be cast out with these weeds.
